Mr Madaan is a Consultant Urological Surgeon. He is member of NICE committee for prostate cancer.
His areas of specialist interest are urological cancers and Robotic & laparoscopic surgery. He has interest in teaching and is actively involved in the laparoscopic training.
He is the first clinician in Kent to introduce cryotherapy as a treatment for the management of prostate cancer, new biopsy techniques for prostate cancer, blue light cystoscopy for the diagnosis of bladder cancer and hyperthermia MMC for bladder cancer treatment.
He has also been awarded clinical excellence awards for his innovation and introduction of new services at Darent Valley Hospital. Mr Madaan has a keen interest in research and as such he has published more than 30 articles in national and international peer reviewed journals and presented at various international conferences.
He is co-lead for Urology Cancer Research at KSS (Kent Surrey & Sussex). He is Principal Investigator for 8 urology trials for kidney, prostate and bladder cancer.
Mr Madaan did a research in prostate cancer at Imperial College and was awarded PhD. He received various awards including Arthur and Violet Pane Memorial Research Scholarship, Ian Sunter Charitable Trust Research Fellowship, British Oncology Association Travel Award, Pfizer Academic Travel Award 2000, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow Travel award and EAU scholarship.
